At 4612 S. LeJeune Road, the doors reopened at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 19. Havana Harry's had been closed for about a year. According to the restaurant's own announcement, it came back with a refreshed dining room and its familiar Cuban classics. The welcome-back offer is still on this week. Through Monday, October 26, guests get one free item with a meal, choosing from a mojito, a Cuban-style tamal, dulce de leche flan, or a café Cubano.
A return to the same room sets the pattern for the whole season. Look at the Coral Gables restaurant news from August through October and most of it is about tenants changing, not new locations. Restaurants are opening where other restaurants just closed. A local landmark came back to its own address. Several of the empty storefronts are being held by people who already have plans for them.
The return that sets the tone
The Burn Miami reported in September that the long closure covered plumbing and kitchen work as part of the refurbishment. The restaurant didn't move, and it didn't rebrand. Its announcement calls the result "New look. Same Cuban soul," and promises the Cuban classics people already know. On opening day, the first 50 guests also got a $20 gift card for a later visit.
That fits the rest of the city this fall. The big new openings are taking over spaces built for dining, and the restaurants that left mostly left their rooms ready for whoever comes next.
The ledger, address by address
Here is the season as a list of addresses, built from local reporting between August and mid-October 2026.
| Address | What was there | What's there now or coming | Status as of mid-October 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4612 S. LeJeune Road | Havana Harry's, closed about a year | Havana Harry's, remodeled | Reopened October 19 |
| 360 San Lorenzo Ave., Shops at Merrick Park | Villagio | La Pecora Bianca | Opening reported for November 2 |
| 223 Valencia Avenue | Maroosh | Lira House | Planned, no date announced |
| 2626 Ponce de Leon Boulevard | Sospiro Wine Bar & Cucina | The Screaming Parrots | Sospiro's closure reported but unconfirmed; café planned, no date |
| 154 Giralda Avenue | Candle Land | Rocket Fizz | Opened in September |
| 2325 Galiano Street | Sra. Martinez | Owners keeping the space | Last service September 26 |
| 374 Miracle Mile | Canelita Cheesecake | Unknown | Vacated by October 6 |
Four of the seven rows are a direct handoff from one tenant to the next. A fifth is the same restaurant coming back. The other two are on hold, and one of those is in the hands of owners who say they'll stay. Even the shop on Giralda followed the pattern. Rocket Fizz brought candy, novelty sodas and retro goods into the space that used to be Candle Land.
Merrick Park gets the season's biggest room
The biggest handoff is at Shops at Merrick Park. La Pecora Bianca is a New York Italian restaurant, and this is its first location outside New York City. It's taking the ground-floor space that used to be Villagio. The Miami Guide, in an October 16 update, reported a public opening on Monday, November 2, with 300 seats. It describes the food as housemade pastas and ingredient-driven cooking served all day, plus dishes created for the South Florida opening. The restaurant itself hasn't announced that date yet, so check again before you plan a dinner around it.
The Burn Miami's menu preview lists spaghetti, rigatoni and tagliatelle, along with chicken paillard, branzino and a heritage pork chop. So the old Villagio room stays Italian and stays big, now under a New York name.
Merrick Park has a smaller addition coming too. The Burn Miami reported that Joe & The Juice is planning a location next to Equinox. No opening date has been given.
Miracle Mile turns over from both ends
The Mile has had the most activity, and the same pattern shows up along its whole length.
At the east end, Imoto opened beside Buccan at 100 Miracle Mile. Its entrance is around the corner on Galiano Street. The Burn Miami reported a target opening of Monday, October 12, for this Japanese and Asian concept from chef Clay Conley. On the Imoto website, the menu is small plates: sushi, sashimi, dumplings, tempura and teppanyaki, with online reservations. Dinner runs Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., and until 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Because it sits next to its sister restaurant, the newest table on the Mile is also one of its most familiar.
A few doors west, Bonsai Sushi opened at 111 Miracle Mile. Next to the sushi, the menu has lomo saltado and pad thai. At 70 Miracle Mile, Don Favio's Pizza Gourmet looked closed in early September, though The Burn Miami couldn't confirm it with the restaurant.
The middle of the Mile added places that do more than one thing. YoYo announced a September 11 opening at 239 Miracle Mile, combining a café, a frozen-yogurt shop and a yoga studio. At 318 Miracle Mile, Ami Ami opened as a café, gallery and bookstore. Its menu leans Mediterranean and includes Alsatian flammkuchen. Right across the numbers, Call Your Mother Deli has announced a location at 317 Miracle Mile and is aiming for late 2026, per The Burn Miami.
Toward the west end, two neighboring storefronts emptied within two months. Green G Juice & Açai closed at 376 Miracle Mile in August. Next door at 374, Canelita Cheesecake had left by early October for a new location at 31 NE 17th Street in Miami. These are the two gaps on the Mile with no announced replacement, and they sit side by side.
Giralda, Valencia and Ponce keep the same rhythm
Off the Mile, the handoffs keep coming.
- 146 Giralda Avenue. Bar Zorro opened quietly by late August with Spanish-themed tapas and cocktails.
- 223 Valencia Avenue. Lira House, a Lebanese restaurant, plans to take over the former Maroosh space. The Burn Miami lists hummus, mezze, bowls and charcoal-grilled meats among its dishes. No opening date has been announced. One Middle Eastern kitchen is replacing another at the same address.
- 2626 Ponce de Leon Boulevard. The Screaming Parrots, a Japanese-style café, is the planned tenant at this address. It's the same address where Sospiro Wine Bar & Cucina was reported closed or paused in late August.
- 6601 South Red Road. MELI Frozen Yogurt opened a new store in early September, at the city's southern edge.
The empty rooms that are already spoken for
Two of the season's closures came with word of what the operators intend next.
Sra. Martinez served its last meal at 2325 Galiano Street on September 26. Its owners told The Burn Miami they would keep the space and might put a new concept there. Babette served its last Coral Gables dinner on August 19 ahead of a planned move to a new location, which hadn't been announced at the time.
That leaves a short watch list for the rest of the year:
- November 2: La Pecora Bianca's reported opening at Merrick Park.
- Late 2026: Call Your Mother Deli's target at 317 Miracle Mile.
- No date yet: Lira House on Valencia, The Screaming Parrots on Ponce, Joe & The Juice at Merrick Park.
- No tenant named: 2325 Galiano, 374 Miracle Mile and 376 Miracle Mile.
Miami New Times also put La Pecora Bianca on its list of the most anticipated Miami openings this fall, with a November 2026 opening. Through Monday, October 26, the most concrete plan on this map is still the one on LeJeune: lunch at Havana Harry's, with a café Cubano or flan on the house.
